Reacting to feedback from their professional UK Network of Approved Contractors, Stonehealth have developed a brand new self-powered portable off-grid mobile unit, that can be plugged-in anywhere to power the renowned DOFF System that leads the way in ultra-sensitive restoration stone and masonry cleaning.
The new machine has been specifically designed to provide up to 120bar water and up to 1.2kw in 240v, or 110v power. All existing past and present DOFF Hotboxes manufactured by Stonehealth can be powered by the new machine. All the operators have to do is attach the mains or bowser water supply then plug-in the portable power unit and switch-on. The high efficiency diesel-powered electric quick-start unit, is designed to work with the standard DOFF Jerry Can, Fuel Can Bund, and Quick-Fit connections. It is supplied as a complete ready-to-use free-standing trolley unit for convenient on-site mobility.
Acknowledged as the best ultra-sensitive cleaning system in the stone conservation industry, DOFF is the professionals’ preferred equipment for gentle stone restoration that avoids damage to sub-structure. It achieves high temperatures of up to 150°C at the nozzle-end and delivers incomparable restoration results that leave the substrate material undamaged and intact for posterity.
The DOFF operator is able to vary and fine-control the temperature and pressure to carefully remove biological matter and other materials such as paint. The steam/superheated water eliminates all traces of moss, algae, fungi and all other biological matter and will also kill off spores. Accordingly, there’s no need to use a chemical biocide during the removal process, or as a protection against further biological activity. Because the temperature in the system is high, the pressure on the surface being cleaned is extremely gentle and the water volume low. The surface is therefore not saturated and will be dry within minutes after cleaning.
